The Word

oh it hurts
and it hurts even more
to know that you got the knowledge
but no capacity to use it
that the brink of your knowledge is spilling over
but the capacity is empty
empty as it may seem
the word that keeps turning few hundred heads with me
the word that keep me awake in the night
the word that haunts me in the brightest day light
the word that seems to spin the world around
the word that has no might in its sound
now down to the dust
it is hard to bear
that my capacity is full
and my knowledge to find it bare
no money in my pocket
the rent due to be paid
if im evicted i could add another word to say
im
jobless
im
homeless
im
laid bare
once more to find my way...

I Got Nothing

i got nothing
and that feeling of emptiness has raided my senses
it has closed into my pores
it has lingered it bitter scent into my arm pits
and i sit there crying
arms cross with my head resting down
i got nothing
i never had anything
but now that you are gone
i got nothing
i got not even me
leaning against a pile of carnage
my slippers reek with dust and blood spills
and my mattress separated from my bed
arms and legs scattered like confetti
i feel nothing
i got nothing
feeling ashamed to be alive
why leave me alive to remember, and feel and feel
this heavy burden upon my heart
i am nothing
and indeed, thats why i sit here
because if i was something, i would not be here
i never had anything
and now i got
nothing...

Me too..

There are police cars
There's a chase
A black man is arrested
And they beat him to death
Later on they find out
It was not him
The description didn't fit
But the stereotype did
His widow pleaded for mercy
Fell down on her knees
All they could do is say sorry
And compensate her needs
It angers me when I see
Judgement on what color you were born in
And a voice screams repeatedly
"Its not my fault that I was born this color"
"It not my choosing to belong to this race"
Its a bad world
And sad for sure
For our eyes do not see
Our eyes are covered in decisions of our mind
A film that covers it from seeing
The beauties that exist
The beauty all around
The beauty in each and everyone of us
No matter what race, religion, country or creed.
For I hurt the same way if you were to beat me
And I would bleed red blood if you were to bruise me
And I have two eyes and I have two hands and I have two feet
And I celebrate birthdays, weddings and funerals
And I do get scared when the lights go out
And I do look on both sides of the road when I cross
And i speak, speak the language of pain and love
For I too can fall in love...

Why Should I Write?

Why should I write?
Fly

Fly
Facilitate my existence
For now I know no bounds to my desires
Facilitate my mind
For now I know no bounds to my ideas
But how swiftly the wind transforms
And directs and objects
To what you do
Just close your eyes
On the path you think you know
And how gravity rejects you to the ground
How you flap your wings but know there’s no getting out
And in those attempts
You know you are not made to fly
Not on your own at least
But if you tried and tried
And you threw yourself from a height
You may just have come up with a way
To not replicate but innovate
To not imitate but create
And while everyone else’s eyes is covered
By the air they know is there
You fly now swiftly
From height to the clouds to being free
Wherever you want and however you want it to be...

After I Have Run Through All The Defaults...

After I have run through all the defaults
My solidarity secludes me tonight
And it is growing by the minute
Into this massive monster
With fiery red eyes
How conclusions I reach
And to conclude I fail
How the possessions I keep
And other possessions lost in space
How my bed swallows me deep every night
I stretch my arms out begging to be pulled out
But the dim lights in my room
Tie a dim light in my heart
And the streetlights that shine bright
Dance with the glimmering stars
No longer can I differentiate between dreams and reality
No longer can I appreciate right from wrong
For my human world is tangled in a mossy green skunk
That stinks and bathes them in vanity divine
And that drips and leaves a trail for the rest to follow
And their tails bristle
The hairs stand up straight
A warning, a cold fright
Covering that bright red tail with a long black coat
No matter how night is the night
You can’t hide
No matter how bright the daylight
The mask is your pride
And you deem yourself human
And yes we are identical
And yes if you look beneath the flesh
We are all skeletal
How deep do you want to get?
How far do you want to go?
The moment that the dust you breathe in
Will exhale and give up on you
How we live selfishly
And only for what we think is right and true...
Modern Day Slave

We think we are free
But in reality we are slaves to society
The everyday commotion
The pressure of earning more than we need
The wants and the greed
The claims and the misdeeds
We are modern day slaves
On a 9 to 5 life wasting away
And before we know it, we will be dead
Anything outside of that we fear,
Anything outside of our routines makes us scared
For our daily life depends on the banks and financial institutions
Who through their greed to acquire
Doom us into cycle of needs
The price for bread today
The price of gold tomorrow
Ofcourse we stand for our beliefs
And we fool ourselves into believing that our opinions count
But at the end of the day, the same idiots get re-elected
The same price rises promise to empty our pockets
And the stagnant pay
Keeps us fuming, and stuck and moulded into this modern day slave..
But opinions count
But definitely not today...
Immigrant

To say that we are immigrants
Is a dirty word today
To class us as immigrants
Is a way to discriminate
To move from movement to individual
To walk with guidelines and rules
To strip a man off his story
To strip a man off his identity
To strip a man off his individuality
To class him equally
Look into that man's eyes
They tell his story
Of his struggles, of his trials, of his failures and of his joys
What brought him here and why
Who saw him off and kissed him goodbye
Why would he leave his homeland
And head for the grey skies
Touching the soil he leaves
Entering the concrete ceilings
Look at the man and see how he compares
How he talks, how he moves and behaves
Are the steps we take, the footsteps we leave behind
A trail to follow, a country to divide
A land to conquer and dig holes deep
Who was here before you?
What did they leave behind?
Why did they leave for the new?
Was it you they left behind?
